#T5W: Favourite LGBTQ+ Reads

Top 5 Wednesday was created by gingerreadslainey and hosted by ThoughtsOnTomes – details about this group can be found on Goodreads. This week’s topic is favourite LGBTQ+ reads! I have so many, and here is a short list (and sorry this isn’t a long post but it’s late and I’m trying to get this posted before midnight.)

1. Check, Please! – Ngozi Ukazu

CHP

Check Please follows vlogger Eric Bittle as he starts Samwell University and joins the school’s hockey team. Super cute and entertaining and free online! Go read it.

2. Here’s The Thing – Emily O’Beirne

HTT

This novel was so sweet. The protagonist, Zelda, is an openly gay girl starting a new high-school in Australia after leaving New York and her best friend behind.

3. The Water That Falls on You from Nowhere – John Chu

TWTF

I just recently read this short story and it even got me out of a reading slump. Very sweet and loving m/m romance with an interesting and unique fantasy element. If you’re interested you can read it online here.

4. Black Iris – Elliot Wake

BI

Quite a dark novel that includes a f/f romance, but I really liked this one. Absolutely love the writing and the plot is a head-fuck.

5. Friends That Have Sex – G.L. Tomas

FTHS

My most recent read! This novel contains a pretty angsty romance with two LGBTQ MCs (one character is bisexual but the other character doesn’t like to use labels). NA readers should check this novel out!

Those are some LGBTQ+ novels I’ve read and loved. What are your favourites? Leave a comment and let me know (admittedly, I could do with some recs)  🙂
